How does the LEA plan to use funds to implement prevention and mitigation strategies in order to continuously and safely operate schools for in-person learning?
*

Pike Road Schools is committed to safely operating schools for in-person learning by providing the necessary PPE items on each campus. ARP ESSER funds will be used to purchase supplies such as masks, hand sanitizer and sanitizing stations, and water bottle filler stations. Additionally, funds will be used for cleaning supplies needed for the custodial staff on each campus for deep cleaning.

How will the LEA ensure that the evidence-based interventions will address the academic impact of lost instructional time and ensure that those interventions respond to the academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of all students including underrepresented student subgroups (each major racial and ethnic group, children from low-income families, children with disabilities, English Learners, gender, migrant students, students experiencing homelessness, and children and youth in foster care) and those who are particularly impacted disproportionately by the COVID-19 pandemic?
*

Pike Road Schools will ensure that the evidence-based interventions will address the academic impact of lost instructional time by purchasing material and providing support to teachers to address needs.

In order to respond to the academic needs of our students, ELA and math resources will be purchased using ARP ESSER funds. These resources will provide students with support necessary to identify learning gaps and intensive foundational and remedial content to close learning gaps. In addition, instructional coaches have been hired to assist teachers with instructional strategies in the classroom in order to maximize instructional time with whole and small group instruction. Special education positions will be secured with the ARP ESSER funds to ensure this population is supported with the implementation of IEPs and other related services. An additional unit will also be added to ELL department to assist with providing services to our Korean population. Professional development will also be provided to teachers to provide the necessary support in the implementation of the evidence-based resources for ELA, math, and students with characteristics of dyslexia.

Pike Road Schools received a grant to support the salary of a mental health services coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year. This person will be responsible for providing assistance with supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of all Pike Road Schools students and teachers. ARP ESSER funds will be utilized to purchase a progress monitoring system for social and emotional learning that will include lessons and strategies to address needs in the areas of social, emotional, and mental health.

How will the LEA comply with the requirements of section 427 of GEPA (20 U.S.C. 1228a)?
The description must include information on the steps the LEA proposes to take to permit students, teachers, and other program beneficiaries to overcome barriers (including barriers based on gender, race, color, national origin, disability, and age) that impede equal access to, or participation in, the ESSER III program.
*
Pike Road Schools will comply with the requirements of section 427 of GEPA (20 U.S.C. 1228s by maintaining an inclusive learning and working environment. Opportunities for all students, teachers, and other program beneficiaries will be communicated utilizing the platforms within the district. No person shall be denied access to the ESSER III program based on their gender, race, color, national origin, disability, or age.
How will the LEA actively monitor their allocations, conduct interim audits to ensure an appropriate application of funds, collect and manage data elements required to be reported, and report this information to the community?
*

Pike Road Schools will monitor allocations through the finance department working closely with the CSFO. Interim audits will be conducted by the Director of Federal Programs to ensure the appropriate application of funds. The Director of Federal Programs will also collect and manage data elements required to be reported. The superintendent will report information to the community.

How will the LEA meaningfully engage with families and communities throughout the life of the ARP ESSER and other relief funds?

Administrators have been asked to add a line item on all agendas to provide these updates. The superintendent will also provide updates to his advisory board, board of education, and the town council.
